Although there are a lot of children out there to be rescued, we consider the prevention  of trafficking and child labour more critical in the development of the child and in the elimination of worst forms of child labour in Ghana. Parents, close extended family members, community members and strangers are all implicated in the trafficking of children for forced labour.

Rescue Foundation works mostly in rural farming and fishing communities. In the farming communities RFG has worked with both men and women to expand their farms by one or two acres at a time.

Peer Education is a very effective tool for creating awareness among both children and adults for the prevention of child trafficking and child labour.

As part of our efforts to ensure proper child development in rural communities our priority objective is to provide basic education for the children, especially the vulnerable ones.

Advocacy, sensitization and awareness creation are mainstreamed into almost all RFG projects.

By using participatory methods, projects have access to a lot of real information, especially information on issues like child trafficking which are crimes and involve clandestine activities.

Poverty, illiteracy and inequality among men and women in poor rural communities are some of the main factors responsible for child labour,
