The objective of our Community System’s strengthening Project is to empower communities to take action to ensure proper child development, ensure elimination of child labour and child trafficking and monitor all children in the community to ensure they all attend school. Through this project we ensure sustainability our projects. Several tools are used to achieve our goals. They include the development of Community Registers (database of the population), development of Community Rules and Regulations to ensure that those who abuse children are sanctioned, Establishment of Community Child Protection Committees (CCPCS) which is responsible to ensure that all children are in school every school day, that no child is trafficked from the community and no child is given work beyond their capability, no child suffers any form of abuse and that defaulters are punished. Capacity building is at the heart of this project. We have trained community elders, police, teachers, transporters religious leaders and facilitated the inauguration of Community Child Protection Committees in 16 communities.
